Dance Teacher wanted for 2011 - Start in Term 2 (or earlier if you want)
Location : Agnes Water QLD 4677 (120km north of Bundaberg)
Ages: mainly 4yr olds - 12yr olds and maybe teens class and adults classes too
School is a 'FUN' dance school where students usually only attend once a week
No exams or Competitions... Just class
Optional : Work towards an end of year concert (this is what we normally do)
Styles previously taught... Jazz/Funk, Breakdance (most popular)
Tap, Ballet, Contemporary (dont usually get many students interested in these styles)
Agnes Water is a beachside town with a lovely friendly community.
Dance School operated from 2001 - 2009 , it is more like a weekly after-school activity... fun class... something for the children to do as there is no other sports except surfing and horse-riding
At the end of 2009... number of students was 80 a week
Classes are usually in each age group i.e. 4 yrs, 5yrs, 6&7 yrs
(some age groups combined if not enough numbers, and some age groups are split into 2 classes because to many numbers in that age group- it all just depends on enrolments... class timeteble will be arranged for you with your input taken into account)
There is no school uniform though students are encouraged to wear suitable clothing (tights, swimwear, little singlets) so body movement can be seen
Owner of school will have all insurances in place and will take care of admin side of business (accounts payable, timetables, advertising, hall hire etc)
All you need to do is
*have a Blue Card for Working with children
*have a genuine like for children and a fun personality
*able to come up with simple fun choreo to suit different age groups
*have access to internet (to email owner information, attendance sheets etc)
*own class music and ipod (to plug into speakers supplied)
*be reliable, on time, courteous to parents, and dedicated
*preferably have some experience teaching at a school where a previous employer can verify your work & reliablity, technique etc
Pay will be $30 per hour (negotiable depending on experience you have)
Classes usually run 3 days per week for approx 3 - 4 hours each day
(approximately 10-12 hours a week)
Time will depend on how many students enrol
CHEAP accommodation can be arranged in your own self contained unit. (choice between two - photos of each supplied)
If you live in Bundaberg/Gladstone and only want to stay part of the week, accommodation can be arranged (nightly rate) or if you want to move to Agnes for the year (a lease can be arranged)
There are other jobs in Agnes Water/1770 available, mainly in cafes, tourism, cleaning, supermarkets, restaurants etc
